I Wish for you.....

I wish for you...

Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you

His promises are true,
You know He will see us through
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
God will do the rest.

(Poem from God is Groovy.com)

I don't wish these things for you. I pray these things gor you now, in 2009, and many, many years to come.

Happy Monday!!

Greetings everyone, I pray that everyone had a great, fulfilled, and blessed Christmas. My Christmas was great. Christmas Eve services at my church was such a joy and blessing. A lot of families and people were bless and receive great joy in praising the Lord. I am part of the church choir and we sang our hearts out through the power of the Holy Spirit. I got connected with beautiful people whom I will definitely call friends for life.

It's such a blessing when you can connect with other Christians (who share the same faith as you) and have fun and laugh in the Lord. Stay tuned for pictures!!

I was able to visit some family members. And most importantly, spending time at home just doing nothing, not being busy, just relaxing with my feet up. :)

This has been the first Christmas where I was not caught up in buying a lot of Christmas gifts for the sake of commercialism. It was about getting closer with God and giving more of myself to Christ and being a blessing to others. It was not stressful at all this time around.

Now, that Christmas is over, we should keep in mind that a Savior was born as a gift to us from God, so that we may have life more abundantly. And take this time to take a year-end review (per what my pastor said @ church Sunday) of your Christian walk and see what areas you can improve upon so that you won't make the same mistakes in 2009.

Remember, 2009 can and will be our year to grow closer to God and walk in our destinies that God has intended for us. Happy Monday and Holidays to you all.

Your Sister in Christ,
Toia

Scripture Sunday ~ Luke 2:12-14

ImageChef.com Poetry Blender

"And this [will be] the sign to you:
You will find a Babe wrapped in
swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God and saying:

"Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace,
goodwill toward men!"

There's Nothing Like A Good Laugh Friday ~ :-D

Police Emergency

This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.

He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."

Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Jesus is Watching

One night a robber broke into a home. While he was aggressively searching through a desk the robber heard a voice say, ''Jesus is watching you!”

He yelled, ''Who said that?!''

Once again the robber heard the same thing, ''Jesus is watching you!''

The robber looked around the room only to see a parrot. He asked the parrot what its name was and the parrot replied, ''Arthur.''

The robber said, ''Ha ha! Who names a parrot that?!”

With attitude the parrot laughs, ''Ha ha! The same person who named the pit-bull BEHIND you Jesus!!"

Cut Your Hair

A boy asks his father to use the car and the father replies "No, not until you cut your hair!”

The boy argues, "But father...Jesus had long hair!"

To which his father says, "Yes, but Jesus walked everywhere!!"

Wordless Wednesday ~ Big Leaf

Big Leaf

I found this leaf in my yard last week. And I thought I would
take a picture and share it with everyone. I was surprise by how big it is.
If I am not mistaken, I think this is a maple leaf. Please correct me,
if you think or know what kind of leaf this is.
Happy WW!!!

Freeze!! Don't Move!!

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT

When God places a business or idea in our hearts, it is so easy to become enthusiastic at first. You become very excited and begin to visualized the successful ending result. You even begin to map out goals and plans on how you are going to bring the vision that God placed in your heart to past. As you begin initating your plans to accomplish your goal, everything seems to be falling into place. But then, all of a sudden, you hit a dry spell! Nothing is going according to plan. Every door you try to walk in seems to slam right in your face. Things seem to be getting harder and harder. Then you find yourself not so excited about the plan God want you to carry out. You begin to question your relationship with God as far as whether or not the vision God gave you is truly of and from Him. You, even, feel as if you are about to lose all hope and a sense of direction. Then, if that is not enough, you feel yourself just about to remove your firm & planted feet off of what God's word say about doing His will and His work.

Have you ever been there? I have. It is easier to sit than stand on God's word without wavering, especially when everything else around you seems to be crumbling down. If you are currently in this predictament, I am telling you to "Freeze and Don't move!" There were so many times I fell short of my blessings because I was willing to give up instead of standing strong on God's word in order to see the ending result of His plan. I wanted to accomplish every goal and plan the easy way. I wanted that instant gratification and not the delayed gratification. I didn't want to be rejected or fight for the vision God gave me. I expected it to be smooth sailing without any hang-ups or hindrance. I was not determined. As soon as an obstacle came my way, I was quick to give up all hope of completion. As a result of my ignorance, I missed out on so many times in the past. But, not anymore!

I am no longer ignorant of satan's devices. I know that God has great things in store for me. However, in order for me to see or experience those great things, I have to follow through with God's plan for my life, including the ups and downs, the highs and lows. That's why it is important to stand firm on God's word. Don't you dare move!! You might not get those quick and fast results to God's plan for your life. However, you must continue on with God's work and know with out a shadow of a doubt that every work that you do unto the Lord is not in vain. So, I encourage you to never give up or never give in. Hold on tight to God's word.

Before I close, I want to leave you with a few scriptures of steadfastness:

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
(Hebrews 13:20-21)

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will. (Ephesian 1:11)

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Scripture Sunday ~ Luke 1:26-28

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name [was] Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored [one], the Lord [is] with you; blessed [are] you among women!" (Luke 1:26-28)

A Blessing for Me :)

Yesterday, I was given a gift that really bless my spirit. At the preschool where I work, each one of the teachers has a mailbox that we check from time to time to see about important announcements and so forth. But anyway, when I checked mine yesterday, I had a gift waiting for me inside my mailbox. It was a candle (strawberry shortcake scent) and a card saying, "Thank You..." A fellow teacher gave it to me just to say "thank you for being you" The gift really touched my heart.

This is the front of the card. It says..."To Thank You.....Out of the abundance of a giving heart...gifts of joy.

This the inside of the card.. (Left side says: "Toia, I just wanted to say thank you for your sweet spirit and encouraging words. You brighten up the room [my classroom] that you are in. Thank You for being a light. You are a blessing.")

(Right side says: "Thinking of you and wanting you to know you're appreciated for all you are and all you do."

Picture with the card is the strawberry shortcake candle.

Something so special as this can bring you straight to tears and be such a blessing. It's important that you try to carry yourself in a Godly manner. And take the time to encourage others, make people life, and be the ray of sunshine that someone may need to get them through the day. "Let Your light shine...."
