Selah Sunday ~ Psalm 25:4-5

Welcome to another episode of Selah Sunday!  In this post, we are going to focus on Psalm 25:4-5.

"Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me.
For You are the God of my salvation.
On You, I wait all day."  nkjv

Special Note:  Asking God to show you, to lead you, and to teach you is an appeal to God to enter into your life more directly, to help you become conformed to the character of God with the understanding that it is a process.  With this understanding, you are willing to wait.

The Lord, our God, is the only one who can show us how to seek first the Kingdom of God, teach us how to be like Jesus, and guide us in the way we should go.  Of course, we are not going to do everything right or become the perfect holier than thou Christian.  We are building character, developing a closer and intimate relationship with God, and grow in Godliness.

"Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
(Psalm 27:14)

Selah Sunday encourages us to pray, rest, meditate, breathe, and be still.
  • Pray for Guidance. God shows us, teaches us, leads us, and guides us in the way we should go and how to build character in Him.
  • Rest in His Ways and His Truths.  Rest in God's ways of doing things.  His way is always perfect.  God's ways are righteous and true.
  • Meditate on His Word.  Meditate on God's word while you wait for guidance.
  • Breathe in God's Way. Breathe out your way.  Breathe in God's ways.  Focus on Him and His instructions.  Let Go of your own sense of direction and Let God have control and lead you.
  • Be still while you wait.  Be still, wait on the Lord and be of good courage.  Wait in God's presence.  While you wait, praise and worship the Lord for His glory, for His Faithfulness, and because His mercy endures forever.

Sleep in Peace.
Wake in Joy!

Simply Saturday ~ Choose the Light; Be the Light!

We hope you are enjoying your Saturday.  For today's Simply Saturday, we are sharing three bible scriptures that encourage us to choose the Light.  Be the Light.  As children of God, we are no longer bound to the darkness of this world anymore.  We are children of the Light.  Jesus, our heavenly Father, and Savior, is the Light of the World.

"I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes
in me should stay in darkness." (John 12:46) NIV

"You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light." (Psalm 18:28) NIV

"For once you were full of darkness,
but now you have light from the Lord.
So live as people of light!
For this light within you produces only
what is good and right and true."
(Ephesians 5:8-9) NLT

Before you go, we would like to leave you with this special nugget.   Jesus is the Light of the World.  As children of God, we should always strive to be the Light (a reflection of who God was, is, and is to come) and let it shine.  Stay connected to the power source of this divine, majestic Light through prayer, praise, worship, and bible reading/studying.

Happy Saturday!!

Firm Foundation Friday ~ God's Word, The Light, The Guide

On today's episode of Firm Foundation Friday, we are going to discuss God's word being the lamp to our feet and the light to our path.  Having Jesus as your firm foundation gives you the confidence to stand secure.  In this security, you can put your hope in God's holy word to guide you through life.

God's word is our Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, a life manual to assist us in troubleshooting problems and/or circumstances.  Psalm 119:105 points out that God's word lights the way, giving us direction in every step we take, as well as wisdom and understanding.

There is no doubt that God's word will lead on a path of success, including an arsenal of spiritual weapons and resources to help you when trouble may occur in an attempt to steer you off course.  The Bible gives us corrections, insights, and epiphanies to bring light to our lives and to make our crooked paths straight.  Let God's word instruct, teach, direct, guide, and transform.

"How sweet are Your words to my taste,  Sweeter than honey to my mouth!  Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."  (Psalm 119:103-105).

Thanks Giving Thursday ~ Thankful & Grateful for The Light

I am so thankful, so grateful and so blessed
that Your word, Oh Lord, is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

I am so thankful, so grateful, and so
blessed that Jesus is the light of the world.
I follow Him so that I will not walk in
darkness, but have the light of life.
(John 8:12)

I am so thankful, so grateful and so
blessed that the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not and cannot
comprehend it.
(John 1:5)

Wonderful Word Wednesday ~ Light and Comprehend

For today's episode of Wonderful Word Wednesday, we are going to focus on Light and Comprehend.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105)

In Psalm 119:105, light means illumination or (concrete) luminary (in every sense, including lightning, happiness, etc.):—bright, clear day, light (-ning), morning, sun.

" And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." (John 1:5)

Comprehend to grasp the nature, significance, or meaning of; encompass.  The Greek word for comprehend is katalambano (pronounced kat-al-am-ban'-o) Strong's #2638, which means to perceive, to attain, to lay hold of with the mind; to seize upon, take possession of; to quench, extinguish, to eliminate.

Darkness will never overcome nor eliminate the light.  Darkness cannot comprehend the all-encompassing power of the Light.  Jesus is the True and Living Light that gives us power, strength, hope, joy and help in the time of trouble or distress.

"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who
follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

The Greek word for light is phos (pronounced foce) Strong's #5457, which means light emitted by a lamp, a heavenly light, (Metaphorically) God is light because light has the extremely delicate, subtle, pure, brilliant quality, of truth and its knowledge,

From the biblical and spiritual perspective, light can mean so many things to help encourage, inspire, and motivate you in the Word of God.

Light of Life
Light of the lamp
Light of the World
Light of Prosperity
Light of Day

Let's Pray:  Jesus, You are the True Light.  The Light of Life that leads and guides us.  We will continue to follow You in good times and even in the bad.  When things seem bleak and dark in our life, remind us that Your Light is our beacon of hope.  God, continue to illuminate our life through Your Word and in Your Presence.  In Your precious Son's name (Jesus), we pray.  Amen.

Trust in Tuesday ~ John 1:4-5

On today's episode of Trust in Him Tuesday, we are going to focus on the word of Life that brought Light.

"The Word gave life to everything that
was created, and his life brought light to
everyone. The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it."
(John 1:4-5)

Special Note:  "The darkness can never extinguish it," means the darkness of evil, the darkness of unwanted circumstances never has and never will overcome God's Light.  Jesus Christ is the Word of Life, and His Life brings light to all of us.

In His Light,  we can see beyond the darkness.  Remember, God's word is a lamp to our feet
and a light to our path.  Jesus is the Light that's powered by God and fueled by the Holy Spirit to keep us hopeful and to maintain our faith.

Life and Light are the essence and mission of God's Word.  So, trust in Him.  Trust in the True Light to keep you from walking blindly in the darkness of your circumstances.  Trust in Him to Light the path ahead of you to give you directions in your life.  Trust in Him to be your GPS and to guide you.

Heavenly Father, show me and teach me how to trust in You, Your Light, to lead me, guide me in the way I should go.  I, also, pray that I would allow Your Word to shine light in my life exposing the dark areas that need to be enlighten so that I can be the best version of me You created me to be.

Masterpiece Monday ~ Psalm 119:105

Masterpiece Monday is about
  • becoming the best version of yourself that God has created you to be
  • grow in your relationship with God (grow in Godliness)
Today we will focus on Psalm 119:105.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet.  And a light to my path," (Psalm 119:105)

The word of God (the light to our paths) is a priceless crown jewel beyond compare.  It transforms you from the old you to the new you; helps you grow into Godliness; develops an intimate relationship with God, and gives you unspeakable joy by illuminating the dark areas of your life.

Special note:  To walk safely in the woods at night we need a light so we don't trip over tree roots or fall into holes.  In this life, we walk through a dark forest of evil.  But the Bible can be our light to show us the way ahead so we won't stumble as we walk.  It reveals the entangling roots of false values and philosophies.  Study the Bible so you will be able to see your way clear enough to stay on the right path. (The Life Application Study Bible).

Selah Sunday ~ Psalm 119:103-105

Welcome to another episode of Selah Sunday!  In this post, we are going to focus on Psalm 119:103-105.

"How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path."
(nkjv)

Special note: "Read and memorize scripture so it begins to guide your thinking and affect your speech.  Know God's Word; It will guide your steps and show you the path on which you are to walk." (Spirit-Filled Bible)

God's word lights our paths to our destiny.  It illuminates us spiritually.  In the midst of our dark times, all things chaotic, God's word is our beacon of hope.  When you read bible scriptures, allow yourself to absorb the light and meditate on them.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it," (John 1:5) esv.

Selah Sunday encourages us to pray, rest, meditate, breathe, and be still.
  • Pray for the Light. God's word, to illuminate every dark area in your heart and in your life.
  • Rest in the Light.  Rest in God's word.  Have peace in His promises and rest assured in it's power to overcome darkness, chaos, and unforseen circumstamces in your life.
  • Meditate in the Light.  Absorb the light.  Focus on the goodness of God's Word - peace, joy, hope, love, faith, etc.
  • Breathe in the Light.  Breathe in the light of God's word and all that it has to offer.  Breathe in strength and breathe out weakness.  Breathe in forgiveness.  Breathe out unforgiveness.  Breathe in light, positivity, and faith.  Breathe out darkness, negativity, and fear.
  • Be still in the Light.  Be still and wait.  Know that He is God.  He is the God of the promise.  He is the God of truth.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Wait on the Lord, as you be still in His Light (His Word), be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart.

Sleep in Peace.
Wake in Joy!
