Wonderful Word Wednesday ~ Countenance

Welcome to another episode of Wonderful Word Wednesday.  Our word of the week is countenance.

According to the Webster dictionary, countenance means mental composure, calm, expression, moral support; bearing or expression that offers approval or sanction [influence (as of conscience) that impels to moral action]

"Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance."
(Psalm 42:5)

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
(Psalm 42:11)

From the biblical perspective, Countenance (Strong's #6440: Hebrew word~paneh (pronounced paw-neem') means in front of, before, to the front of, in the presence of, in the face of, at the face or front of, from the presence of, from before, from before the face of.

God helps us to keep our mental composure and gives us moral support to do the right thing and to live a life that is pleasing in Gid's eyes., especially when are being wronged and experiencing hardship.

When your back feels like it's pushed up against the wall, you can't help but hope in God the help of our countenance, which keeps us on the straight and narrow, gives us peace of mind and instructs us how to respond to a situation instead of reacting to it.

Word-Filled Wednesday ~ Luke 18:16

Below this is a picture my little girl, Ketirah, (at this time she was 6) drew a picture in church on the white board. It's a picture of Jesus hugging her. How can you not love that??

Even at such a young age, she knew who Jesus is and that He is always there giving out hugs.  Not only that, Ketirah doesn't see Jesus as little person, but someone who is bigger than her.

"But Jesus called them to Him and said,
"Let the little children come to Me,
and do not forbid them;
 for of such is the kingdom of God."
(Luke 18:16)

Word-Filled Wednesday ~ Psalm 40:3

Photobucket

We should not be singing the same old song. It's time to allow God to put a new song in your mouth. Not only would those who don't understand how awesome God is fear it, but the devil himself would quaking in his boots.

He knows once you grab hold of your new song God has birth in your heart, you will become a dangerously contagious Christian. And there won't no stopping you. People would draw near to you. Then those same people are going to want to know how can they get them a new song and sing it!!

Bottomline, God's new song for you will go multi-platinum and spread worldwide!!!

Thanksgiving Post #14 & Word-Filled Wednesday

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)

I am thankful for God's love. Because of His Love, I am save, free from sin, and will live and not die. Everlasting life is part of my salvation benefits. I thank you God in the name of your precious Son's name Jesus!!! Hallelujah!!

"My heart will sing no other name. Jesus!! Jesus!!"

Word-Filled Wednesday ~
2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Photobucket

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
