Tuesday Prayer ~ Firm Foundation

praying silhoutte 1

My Dearest Heavenly Father,

Your thoughts and and Your ways are higher than mine. You have known me before I was conceived in my mother's womb. And You know the plans destined for my life, which are not harmful, but give prosperity and great success in Christ Jesus.

I pray that everything I do will be in the center of Your will. And that I will take heed to every word that You have spoken and written. Oh, heavenly Father, I pray that all the work I do in present or future tense will be based on Your word. You are my firm foundation. On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand. I know for sure without a shadow of doubt that if I keep You front and center, I will prosper in the name of Jesus.

Furthermore, I know that if I don't labor in You, all my work will be in vain. My prayer is to be pleasing in Your sight. Thank You Lord for Your wisdom, Your guidance, and Your instructions. In the name of Jesus, I pray.....Amen.

Manic Monday ~ Build

manic monday

It's the last Manic Monday of October. This week is based on Psalm 127:1, "Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain." This psalm is about laboring and prospering with the Lord by building your work, your accomplishments His firm foundation.

Psalm 127 reminds of the parable about the wise and the foolish builder in Matthew 7:24-29.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man
who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended,
the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house;
and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine,
 and does not do them, will be like a foolish man
who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended,
the floods came, and the winds blew and beat
 on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

This parable illustrates why it is very important to have God first and being in the center of His will, so that everything you do won't be in vain. Can you just imagine having to work hard, giving everything you got to build a future only to have it washed away in a few seconds simply because your foundation wasn't firm or solid? Isn't it worth to get it right the first time?

On the other hand, if we don't get it right the first time, at least we should learn from it and get on the right track the second time around. The bottomline is if you don't want all your accomplishments to be in vain, then put God first and be obedient to God's word. In addition to that, take time to examine yourself, your life, your business, etc. just to make sure that what you are building is on a solid rock and not sand.

Sunday Scripture Reading ~ Psalm 127:1

bible-reading 1

Happy Sunday!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. It's beginning to look and feel like fall over here in SC. I'm enjoying every bit of it. This week's theme scripture will be based on Psalm 127:1.

"Unless the Lord builds the house,
they labor in vain, who build it;
Unless the Lord, guards the city."

Psalm 127 is about laboring and prospering with the Lord. One thing I know for sure is that we cannot do or be anything without God being the foundation of it all. I like to study from different bibles because each of them always seem to have a great insight on a scripture or passage.

For example, here's a study note from The Dake Bible on Psalm 127:1:

"All works of men built independent of God are vain. This psalm teaches man to put dependence upon God for success in building lasting things, whether houses, families, business, national security, or anything else."

That statement is so true on every level. In addition to that, The Life Application Study Bible has a note for Psalm 127:1 that also hit the nail on the head.

"Life without God is senseless. All of life's work - building a home, establishing a career, and raising a family must have God as the foundation. A family without God can never experience the spiritual bond God brings to relationships. A city without God will crumble from evil and corruption on the inside.

Don't make the mistake of leaving God out of your life. If you do, all your accomplishments will be futile. Make God your highest priority and let Him do the building."

I couldn't have said that any better. So, please before you invest your time into any work, make sure that God is the foundation. Every work built on God is made to last and will stand against the test of time.
