Saturday's Stop and Reflect ~ Psalm 16:9-11

reflecting

Saturday's Stop and Reflect is about taking the time to ponder on your week. I like to think of it as a week end review. It's great to reflect on your week to think about lessons learned, God's Word, and so much more.

It's your own personal self examination. So with Saturday's Stop and Reflect, I will review this week's scripture, points to ponder on, and wrapped it up with a Psalm reading.

This week's scripture for June 3 - 9, 2012:

mirror words

Nuggets of Reflection:
  • Hold on to your confession of hope without wavering.
  • God is faithful and keeps His promises.
  • If you ever feel yourself wavering, pray and remember God's word.
  • Get connected with some great people, especially the ones who will give you hope and strength to hold fast.
  • Remember this week's Feel Free Friday, HAVE FUN!! Live. Laugh. and Love!!

Today's Psalm Reading:
(Psalm 16:9 - 11)

Therefore my heart is glad,
and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.

For You will not leave
my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your
Holy One to see corruption.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore

Feel Free Friday ~ Have Fun!! =D

feelfriday2

Feel Free Friday is about feeling free to do whatever. God wants us to enjoy and live life to the fullest. Being a Christian doesn't mean that you are sentenced to a lame and boring life. Do the verbs.

With that being said, Feel Free Friday will be my miscellaneous posts, whether it's a poem, recipe, or etc. It's just simply about having fun and loving life. Let's begin Feel Free Friday with a poem about Having Fun.

Have Fun
I love to have fun
It's what I love to do
More than others and a lot like some

Listening to Music, Sing, and Dance
Is what I love to do
Everytime I get a chance

Spending time with family and friends
Is what I love to do
We have so much fun and often hope it never ends

Live, Laugh and Love
Is what I love to do
and what everyone should do

So Have Fun more than once or twice
and you will see that having fun
Is a great way to live your life

Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ The Revelation Song - Kari Jobe

water glass2

Back in 2009, I started a segment called "Quench Your Thirst Thursday." It is about allowing God through the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus to quench your thirst. He is the only one who can quench our thirst so that we will never want to thirst again. Please see my very first segment to understand the concept more by clicking here .

"For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children." (Isaiah 44:3) (nlt)

"And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." (John 6:35)

Quench Your Thirst Thursday is where I will share my favorite gospel, contemporay Christian, etc. songs that I enjoy singing; And the songs that just touch my heart in such way that I am just overflowing in God's presence. I will post a music/lyric video as well as the lyrics. Sometimes, I come to realize that reading the lyrics instead of singing them is just as rewarding in my devotional time with God.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink." (John 7:37)

So to kick off my segment....again, I chose "The Revelation Song" Kari Jobe

REVELATION SONG - Kari Jobe from kari-jobe on GodTube.

The Revelation Song - (Sung By: Kari Jobe)
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is He
Sing a new song to Him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is He
Sing a new song to Him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lighting rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor strength and glory and power be
To You the only one who's King

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You

Filled with wonder awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus Your name is power, breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery

Oh, You're worthy, mystery
You are worthy

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You, I will adore You

May God quench your thirst like never before; so that you will never have the desire to thirst again. In the name of Jesus I pray....Amen.

Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Proverbs 4:1-7

rocks2

Wisdom plays an essential role in our spiritual life, especially when it comes to making decisions in our everyday life, whether it may be at work, home, or etc. It is the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things, including how to make wise decisions. In order for us to grow in wisdom, we must continue to spend time and meditate on God's Holy Word.

So for Wisdom Word Wednesday, I will share scriptures from Proverbs that minister to me. My prayer is that each scripture or passage I share is a blessing to you; And in some way, shape, or form, you will be able to apply it everyday.

Security In Wisdom

Hear, my children,
the instruction of a father,

And give attention to know understanding;
For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.

When I was my father’s son,
Tender and the only one
in the sight of my mother,

He also taught me, and said to me:
“Let your heart retain my words;
Keep my commands, and live.

Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away
from the words of my mouth.

Do not forsake her,
and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.

Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.

(Proverbs 4:1-7)

Tuesday's Prayer ~ The Strength To Hold Fast

praying silhoutte 1

Heavenly Father,

You are my rock and my salvation. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. I thank you for all you have done and for all that you have planned for my future.

I pray for strength to hold fast to my confession of hope despite how things may seem. Please forgive me for the times I have wavered in my hope for You. You are God of many promises; And You are faithful to keep all of them. I thank you for your faithfulness and giving me hope in my times of trouble. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

in Christ (as God tells us in the bible to do)
in order to become His dwelling place."

Manic Monday ~ Promised

manic monday

Monday is considered for most the first day of a new week. That's probably because Monday is the day when we have to get back to our already hectic scheduled progam. Hence, Manic Monday. For some (or maybe most) Monday is just that....MANIC. In some of my previous posts, I've said that Mondays don't have to be considered the beginning of "Oh NO!! It's Monday again!!" kind of day.

Believe it or not, your mondays doesn't have to be manic as long as you stand on God's Word.

Today's word is PROMISED from Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who PROMISED is faithful".

promised - Greek word (epangello) #1861 - to engage; to profess; to assert something concerning oneself to announce what one is about to do (an intention); to render a service; to make a commitment; to pledge to do something

God is faithful and just to keep His promises. When God makes a promise, He makes a commitment to do what He said He will do. Throughout the bible you can read about all the promises He made to His people such as Abraham, Noah, David, etc. Every promise God promised He kept. However, regardless of how your situation may look in the natural realm, you must hold fast without wavering.  You must keep confessing, confessing, and confessing your affirmation of hope.

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
(2 Peter 3:9)

Scripture References:

"But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end." (Hebrews 3:6)

"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession."(Hebrews 4:14)

"........If you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain."
(1 Corinthians 15:2)

Sunday's Scripture Reading ~ Hebrews 10:23

bible-reading 1

Sunday is great day to prepare yourself for your week. The best way to get kick off the week is to start with God's word. His word is the foundation of everything. And this week is going to be about holding fast to our confessions. We cannot or should not waver our hope in God, in His word, and in His promises.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
(Hebrews 10:23)

God is faithful to fulfill all His promises. If God says it, then we can believe it. Part of that belief in action is exercised through and by our confessions of hope.

Other bible translations for Hebrews 10:23

"Let's keep a firm grip on the promises
that keep us going. He always keeps His word."
(msg)

"So let us seize and hold fast and retain
without wavering the a hope we cherish
and confess and our acknowledgement of it,
for He Who promised is reliable
(sure) and faithful to His word."
(amp)

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope
we profess, for he who promised is faithful."
(niv)

"Let us hold tightly without wavering
to the hope we affirm, for God can be
trusted to keep his promise."
(nlt)
