Saturday's Stop and Reflect ~ Psalms 1

reflecting

This Week's Scripture September 2 - September 8, 2012
mirror Psalms 100

Nuggets of Reflection:
  • Being prosperous and in good health are part of our salvation/benefit package in Christ.
  • When you discipline your body, you can be at your very best for God's service. You can do more for God, if you are a healthy vessel.
  • You can't experience true prosperity until you have God in your life.
  • Before you can have prosperity, you must have a priority. And that priority has to be God.
  • We are to appreciate what we HAVE....not whine and complain about what we HAVE NOT.

Psalms 1

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Feel Free Friday ~ Praise God for What You Have Now

feelfriday2

Besides Sunday, I think Friday is one my favorite day of the week!! Friday is the beginning of either a fun, relaxing, or exciting weekend. Whatever the case may be, it's your weekend so take it all in and enjoy every minute of it. For Feel Free Friday, I want you to feel free to praise and thank Jesus for having good health and prosperity.

Even if you are not as healthy and/or as propserous as you would like to be, confess them into existence by faith and in the name of Jesus. We are to appreciate what we HAVE....not whine and complain about what we HAVE NOT. Count it all joy from the smallest to biggest blessings because there are more to come. The blessings of God are never ending.

Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Prosper

rocks2

Happy Hump-Day!! Our themed scripture for this week is 3 John 2. For this Wisdom Word Wednesday, the word is prosper. Sometimes people tend to look at prosperity through materialistic things. But prosperity is three-fold.

However, you can't experience true prosperity until you have God in your life. Before you can have prosperity, you must have a priority. And that priority has to be God. A relationship with God must come before any and everything else.

"But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you,"
(Matthew 6:33).

When you put God first, everything else we need or may want follows. Prosper means to help on the road or succeed in reaching whatever you set out to accomplish. There is no doubt that God wants His children to prosper.

"However, prosperity should not be the end in itself. It ought to be the result of a quality of life, commitment, dedication, and action that is in line with God's word. Divine prosperity.....is an ongoing progressing state of success and well-being. It is intended for every area of lives: the spiritual, the physical and emotional, and the material. We must maintain a balance." - The New Spirit-Filled Bible

We must be wise to realize that true prosperity comes from God.  Blessings to you always.

Tuesday's Prayer ~ Good Health and Prosperity in All Areas

praying silhoutte 1

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am blessed to have you as the head of my life. It is your grace and mercy that empower me everyday. You are always there when I need you most. Your timing is always perfect. When I am going through, I realize so often that you are my Source. You are my King. You are my Rock. You are the song that serenades daily in my heart. I love you God with all my mind, heart, and soul.

I know that you didn't make me to be perfect. However, I do strive to be pleasing in Your sight by living a life according to Your word. I know that is Your will for me to be in good health and prosper in all three areas of my life, spiritually, mentally, and physically. For those you are not feeling prosperous and/or healthy in one or all areas of their life, I pray that You will send a word or someone their way to encourage them to seek You for guidance in the name of Jesus.

My desire is to draw close to You and be the woman of God You purposed for me to be. I know that You have great things planned for me. And I want to make sure I take heed to Your instructions so that I can be in position where You can use me for Your service. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus.

Manic Monday ~ Health

manic monday

Happy Labor Day!! I hope everyone have a safe one. Relax and Enjoy!! For today's Manic Monday, we are going to talk about health. To recap, our themed scripture for the week it's, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul prospers, (3 John 2).

health - [Greek Word:hugiano; Strong's#5198] -
Compare to hygiene....to be sound in body, in good health

God is concerned about our bodies just as much as He is for our souls.  Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is where the trinity lives. We should not disregard our physical bodies, but we must be a good steward over it. This where we don't overindulged. However, we can pray for self-control. Exercising and being mindful of what what and how much we eat is good way to discipline our bodies.

When you discipline your body, you can be at your very best for God's service. You can do more for God, if you are a healthy vessel. "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body[a] and in your spirit, which are God’s," (1 Corinthians 6:19).

We must glorify God with our bodies. In order to make sure your house is liveable or up to par, you have keep it clean as well as keep up with the maintenance. It's unhealthy to live in a dirty and filthy house. Our bodies are temples where Christ dwells. Each one of our bodies is a sanctuary for God, which I think is such a blessing. Having Said that, don't you think we owe to God to keep our spiritual house clean on a daily basis.

Through Jesus, God paid the mortgage on our bodies. We no longer belong to the Bank of Satan; And there is no balloon payment. God owns every fiber of our being. We belong to Him; And God belongs to us. There is no foreclosure. The Holy Spirit is here to stay...forever!! Hallelujah and Amen!!

Sunday's Scripture Reading ~ 3 John 2

bible-reading 1

It's the beginning of a new week. I pray everyone is enjoying their three-day weekend. Mine is going good. My family and I haven't plan anything spectacular for the weekend. But, that's fine with me. I think it's all about your perspective.

Just because we don't have anything in particular planned for our 3-day weekend, that doesn't mean we are not enjoying ourselves. I am just thankful and praise God that my children and husband are in good health.

With that being said, it's time for another Scripture Sunday Reading. And our theme scripture for the week is 3 john 2.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper
in all things and be in health,
just as your soul prospers."

Being prosperous and in good health are part of our salvation/benefit package in Christ. People tend to look at prosperity from so many angles as well as what it means to be in good health.

We are going to explore 3 John 2 and see what God wants us to receive in our hearts. So, let's get ready to dig a little bit deeper in the name of Jesus!!

Other Bible Translations for 3 John 2

"Dear friend, I hope all is well with you
and that you are as healthy in body
as you are strong in spirit."
(nlt)

"Dear friend, I pray that you may
enjoy good health and that all may go
well with you, even as your
soul is getting along well."
(niv)

"How truly I love you! We're the best of friends,
and I pray for good fortune in everything
you do, and for your good health—that your everyday
affairs prosper, as well as your soul!"
 (msg)

"My dear friend, I pray that everything
may go well with you and that you
may be in good health—as I know
you are well in spirit."
