Give Thanks Day #9 ~ Hope

It's Day #9 of Designer's Original 30 Day Give Thanks Challenge. And today I am thankful for hope. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best. Sometimes we hope our bills get paid; We hope we get that promotion; We hope that we a job; We hope that we lose a few pounds. We hope for a lot things.



The main thing is that we don't give up hope. In stressful, nail-biting, heart-wrenching times, we must put our hope in the Lord. "It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD," (Lamentations 3:26). When you put your hope in the Lord, everything will turn for the best and the way God intended all the long.



In Psalm 71:5, David told God that He is his hope. "For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; [You are] my trust from my youth." 

Then He went on to tell God that his hope won't die. It will continue. 

"But I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more," (Psalms 71:14). 

Regardless of what we are going through, we must never lose sight of hope. 

We must always have hope in the name of Jesus.

Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ "Nothing Else"

There are moments in life when everything feels cluttered, our schedules, our thoughts, our hearts. We find ourselves chasing after things: success, validation, dreams, etc. Until we realize, we have drifted far away from the very One our soul truly desires.  Cody Carnes' song “Nothing Else”  is about the importance of prioritizing a relationship with God above all else, even above the blessings and gifts He provides. It emphasizes a shift in focus from seeking the blessings from the hands of God to pursuing His heart (His presence). Also, it encourages Christians to return to a place of genuine, heart-centered worship and to recognize that God's love and presence are the ultimate blessings. “I’m caught up in Your presence, I just want to sit here at Your feet...” This opening line reflects the spirit of Luke 10:39-42 (NKJV) , where Mary chooses to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His word. Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ Your Presence is Heaven

Within every believer, there is a deep longing and desire, not for material things, approval from our peers, rewards or accolades, but for the very presence of God.  “Your Presence Is Heaven” by Israel Houghton, demonstrates the sincerity of a soul that understands or wants to experience the majestic beauty of intimacy with Jesus in God's presence which offers a foretaste of heaven, bringing joy, peace, and a sense of belonging that surpasses any earthly experience.  “Who is like You Lord in all the earth? Matchless love and beauty, endless worth”   This lyric speaks truth of God's word in Exodus 15:11, which says   "Who among the gods is like you, Lord?  Who is like you, majestic in holiness,  awesome in glory, working wonders?"
