Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Use the Word to Cure Your Worries

rocks2

Happy 4th of July!!! I pray and hope that you are enjoying your day. Whether it's being a couch potato, having a cookout, going to the beach/lake, or just catching up with some family and friends, cease the day and HAVE FUN!! Don't worry about tomorrow's agenda. Try this for words of wisdom: Forget the PAST. Keep out of the FUTURE. Stay in the PRESENT and soak it all in. Amen and Amen!!

Now for today's Wisdom Word Wednesday, I want to share with you "Ten Secrets of Cure for Worry" that I read in my Dake Study Bible. God doesn't want us to be anxious for nothing or worry about anything. He wants to protect (guard) us. And the best way for that to happen is to let it all go, give it to Him, and receive His peace which surpasses all understanding. That is why it so important not to lean on our own understanding, but just acknowledge God for who He is and what He can do for us.

Here are the Ten Secrets of Cure for Worry:

1. Permit the peace of God to keep your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:7)

2. Renounce all worry and by prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving make all requests known to God. (James 4:7)

3. Think on the right things. (Philippians 4:8)

4. Keep your mind stayed on God. (Isaiah 26:3)

5. Use the weapons of spiritual warfare. (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)

6. Put on the whole armour of God. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

7. Have faith in God. (Matthew 6:25-34, Mark 11:22-24)

8. Live and walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-26, Romans 6:14-23, Romans 8:1-13)

9. Do not cast away confidence. (Hebrews 3:16, 10:23)

10. Cast all your cares upon God. (1 Peter 5:7)

The idea of letting it all go and letting God do the work is easier said than done. You may not stop being anxious overnight. However, you can try to work on it. It's all part of the "God working in you" process. And you must continue to read and mediate on the scriptures that will encourage you not to worry. So, when a trying storm comes your way, it will be nothing for you to pray and give all to our miracle working God.

And happy 4th to you as well. Thanks for visiting. I've been a little slack the last few months.
It was good to hear from you again.

Toia,
I was so blessed to see your comment. Though the fourth has come and gone, I can tell you these thoughts on worry are so timely. I may have to dig into my hubby's Dake's more often. I have been using applications lately and have neglected to study those annotations. Oh, to dig dig deeper.

Yes, stay in the present... so true.
