The Other Forgotten 10 Commandments

THE OTHER FORGOTTEN 10 COMMANDMENTS
* * * * * *

1.Thou shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.

2. Thou shall not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass.

3. Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them, for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.

4. Thou shall face each problem as it comes.
You can only handle one at a time anyway.

5. Thou shall not take problems to bed with you, for they make very poor bedfellows.

6. Thou shall not borrow other people's problems. They can better care for them than you can.

7. Thou shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill, it is forever gone. Concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now!

8. Thou shall be a good listener, for only when you listen do you hear different ideas from your own. It is hard to learn something new when you are talking, and some people do know more than you do.

9. Thou shall not become "bogged down" by frustration, for 90% of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action.

10. Thou shall count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.

I think that I have broken 8 out of 10 of these forgotten commandments. Many times I have react to a situation or situations with my flesh, instead of pausing and allowing the Holy Spirit to step in first to save the day. This remind me of fire safety. One of the things many of us have learned about fire safety is that when you your clothes catch on fire, don't panic. Don't run in a frenzy because that will give the fire more oxygen to burn. To prevent your clothes to burn more, you must Stop, Drop and Roll!!

We can definitely use a tip like that when it comes to spiritaul safety. When life happens, God doesn't want us to be afraid, to panic, or to go crazy. He wants us to Stop, Pray, and Praise.

1. Stop - When you stop, you are still. You are not moving. "Be still, and know that I [am] God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10)

2. Pray - Sometimes we forget to pray (or communicate) with Him about our situation. God knows what's going on with us before we do. However, He waits for us to open our mouths in prayer and cast our burdens on Him. "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). In addition to that, God has given us angels to send out on His commands to work that impossible situation to a possible and positive one. "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:11-12) NIV.

3. Praise - After you stop and pray your situation to God, the best thing to do, next, is praise. Praise Him with a yet praise. Despite of what your situation seems to look like with the natural eye, praise God. When the praises of God go up, the blessings come down. "The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him," (Psalm 28:7).

So, try not to forget about these commandments. They can remind you that God is God. He is a merciful God. No matter what, He is not going to leave nor forsake us. Most importantly, do not be afraid. Do let the fear of your situation cloud your judgement or cloud your reception from God. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind," (2 Timothy 1:7). Remember my sisters in Christ, to Stop, Pray, and Praise!!

Your Sister in Christ,
Toia

This is awesome Toia. I'm going to link this one on my blog, as I feel it is beneficial for everyone to read. Great post. Absolutely love the great reminder. I've broken them too. :(
The very first step, Stop is so true. If we would learn to do that, imagine how much better we be in obeying the Lords ways. God Bless You!
