How to Accept Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior: Salvation is Here!!!
SALVATION
God created you for a relationship with Him. Sin separates us from God, but His love has not left us without hope. Through Jesus Christ, God made a way for you to be forgiven, made new, and reconciled to Him, not because you could ever earn salvation, but because He offers it to you as a gift of grace.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
JOHN 3:16 · NKJV
WHY DO I NEED SALVATION?
The story of salvation begins with an uncomfortable truth we all share: we need a Savior.
Every one of us has sinned. We have all fallen short of God's perfect standard, choosing our own way instead of His. Sin is more than the mistakes we make. It is the condition that separates us from the holy God who created us and loves us.
Scripture makes clear that none of us can make ourselves right with God. No amount of good works, good intentions, or religious effort can erase our sin or restore what sin has broken. We need what we cannot provide for ourselves: forgiveness, reconciliation, and a Savior.
Sin is universal, and Scripture tells us that sin has a consequence.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
ROMANS 6:23 · NKJV
But the story doesn't end with what sin deserves.
God offers a gift.
WHAT DID JESUS DO FOR ME?
What we could never do for ourselves, God did for us through Jesus Christ.
God did not leave us separated from Him. Because of His great love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to do what we could never do for ourselves.
Jesus lived the sinless life we could not live. Though He had no sin of His own, He willingly gave His life on the cross for ours. He took upon Himself the penalty our sin deserved, was buried, and on the third day, God raised Him from the dead.
The resurrection is not simply the ending of the story of the cross. It is the declaration that Jesus is alive and that sin and death do not have the final word.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3–4 · NKJV
At the cross, God demonstrated the depth of His love for us while we were still sinners.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
ROMANS 5:8 · NKJV
Through Jesus Christ, the forgiveness we need and reconciliation with God have been made possible. Jesus paid the penalty for our sin and opened the way for us to be restored to the Father. What we could never accomplish for ourselves, Christ accomplished for us.
Jesus did not come merely to make your life better.
He came to save you and reconcile you to God.
You cannot purchase this.
You cannot deserve it.
You cannot work your way into it.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO EARN IT.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
EPHESIANS 2:8–9 · NKJV
Salvation is a gift of God's grace. It is not a reward for being good enough, doing enough good works, attending church, following religious rules, or somehow making yourself worthy of Him.
None of us could ever earn what Jesus purchased for us at the cross. God offers salvation freely, not because we deserve it, but because He is gracious. We receive His gift through faith in Jesus Christ.
Grace is the gift.
Jesus is the Savior.
Faith receives what He has done.
GRACE
God gives what we could never earn.Grace means salvation begins with God, not with our ability to make ourselves worthy of Him.
JESUS
Jesus has done what we could never do.Our confidence is not in our goodness or our performance. It is in Christ and His finished work.
FAITH
We trust in Jesus and receive what God has provided.Faith is not earning salvation by believing hard enough. It is placing our trust in Jesus Christ as the One who saves.
God has provided the gift. The question now becomes: How will you respond?
HOW DO I RESPOND?
God's invitation to salvation calls for a response. We do not earn His gift, but neither do we remain unchanged before it. We come to God honestly, turn from sin, place our faith in Jesus Christ, and entrust our lives to Him.
RECOGNIZE
Recognize your need for a Savior.Salvation begins with acknowledging what we have already seen in Scripture: we have sinned, we cannot save ourselves, and we need the forgiveness only God can provide. We come to Him honestly, without excuses and without pretending that we can make ourselves right with Him.
REPENT
Turn from sin and turn toward God.Repentance is more than feeling sorry for what we have done. It is a change of heart and mind that turns us away from sin and toward God. We stop insisting on our own way and turn to Him, willing to leave behind the life that separated us from Him.
Repentance does not mean you must make yourself perfect before coming to Jesus. You come to Him as you are, with a heart that is willing to turn from sin and follow Him.
BELIEVE
Place your faith in Jesus Christ.Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. But biblical faith is more than simply knowing these truths. It is placing your trust in Jesus Christ and relying on Him as the One who saves you.
SURRENDER
Receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.Following Jesus is more than asking Him to forgive your sins while continuing to live entirely on your own terms. When you receive Christ, you entrust your life, your direction, and your future to Him. He becomes not only the Savior you trust, but the Lord you follow.
Surrender does not mean you already know how to follow Jesus perfectly. It means your answer to Him is yes. You are placing your life in His hands and beginning a new life of learning to walk with Him.
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
ROMANS 10:9 · NKJV
You don't have to understand everything before coming to Jesus. You don't have to fix yourself first. You don't need perfect words. You simply come to Him with an honest heart, recognizing your need, turning toward God, placing your faith in Christ, and surrendering your life to Him.
Jesus has already done the saving. Your response is to trust Him.
If that is the desire of your heart, you can respond to Him right now.
ARE YOU READY TO SAY YES TO JESUS?
You don't need perfect words. God sees your heart. If you are ready to turn from sin, place your faith in Jesus Christ, and surrender your life to Him, you can respond to God in prayer. Prayer is your opportunity to speak honestly with Him, confess your faith in Jesus, and say yes to His will and His way for your life.
There is no special formula you must memorize. Speak to God sincerely from your heart. If you need help putting your response into words, you can begin with this prayer.

SOMETHING NEW HAS BEGUN
If you have sincerely turned to God and placed your faith in Jesus Christ, then you are a new creation in Christ. Being a new creation means becoming who God created you to be and learning to live the life He intended for you, with Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 · NKJV
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD
If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, you have not only been given new life. You have been welcomed into God's family. You belong to Him, and you are now part of a family of believers joined together through faith in Christ.
Your relationship with Jesus begins a lifelong journey of knowing Him, growing in your faith, and learning to live as His follower. You will not know everything today, and you do not have to. God will continue His work in you as you walk with Him.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:”
JOHN 1:12 · NKJV
You are forgiven.
You belong to Christ.
Your new life with Him has begun.
You do not have to walk this new life alone. God has given you His Word, His Spirit, and His people to help you grow.
So, what comes next?
YOU SAID YES TO JESUS. NOW WHAT?
Saying yes to Jesus is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Him. You do not have to know everything today or have your entire Christian journey figured out. Like every relationship, your relationship with Jesus grows as you spend time with Him, learn His Word, trust His leading, and walk with Him day by day.
There are important next steps that will help you grow in your faith and begin living your new life in Christ. You will learn to pray, study God's Word, connect with other believers, become part of a local Bible-based church, follow Jesus in baptism, and discover what it means to live as His disciple.
You don't have to take every step today.
You simply need to take the next one.
You are not walking this new life alone. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God will continue to teach you, shape you, guide you, and help you grow as you walk with Him. Your journey with Jesus has begun.
