Saturday's Stop and Reflect ~ Psalm 27:1-5

Image
Saturday's Stop and Reflect is about taking the time to ponder on your week. I like to think of it as a week end review. It's great to reflect on your week to think about lessons learned, God's Word, and so much more. It's your own personal self examination. So with Saturday's Stop and Reflect, I will review this week's scripture, points to ponder on, and wrapped it up with a Psalm reading. This week's scripture for June 10 - 16, 2012:   Nuggets of Reflection: It's time to be strong and be of good courage. Don't be afraid or dismayed. Being afraid, distorts your faith in God. God has our backs.  He will never leave nor forsake you.  God is with us wherever you go.   Today's Psalm Reading:   (Psalm 27:1-5) The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD [is] the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foe...

Feel Free Friday ~ Be Strong and Very Courageous

Image
I love Feel Free Fridays. It's the end of the work week for most; And the beginning of the weekend. This Feel Free Friday is about feeling free to be strong and very courageous. There is nothing wrong with being strong and courageous. If you always wanted to sing karoake, but never had to the courage to get up on stage to do it. Go for it this weekend!! Or, if it was something else you always wanted to do, but don't exactly feel strong and confident in doing so...try it anyway. Because, God is with us wherever we go. He got our backs so we shouldn't be afraid. For Feel Free Friday, I wrote another poem. I hope you like it and it's a blessing to you. Happy Feel Free Friday!!   Be Strong and Very Courageous By: Toia Thompson The freedom to BE STRONG and VERY COURAGEOUS It's not just for you or me, but for all of us Not only is it our freedom, It's a command That we do not waver in hope for on God's word we stand We sh...

Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ Courageous

Image
For today's Quench Your Thirst Thursday, I chose "Courageous" by Casting Crowns. Courageous is the title song for the movie....you guessed it.....Courageous. I thought this song goes along with our verse this week, Joshua 1:9, perfectly. This is a great video. And if you haven't seen the movie, yet, I recommend that you do so. I hope this song is a blessing to you. Remember, "Be STRONG and of good COURAGE. Do not be afraid nor dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. "COURAGEOUS" by Casting Crowns We were made to be courageous We were made to lead the way We could be the generation That finally breaks the chains We were made to be courageous We were made to be courageous We were warriors on the front lines Standing, unafraid But now we're watchers on the sidelines While our families slip away Where are you, men of courage? You were made for so much more Let the pounding of our hearts cr...

Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Proverb 16:1-9

Image
For this Wisdom Word Wednesday, we are going to look at Proverbs 16:1-9. When I read this, I was taken aback. It's straight to the point all meat and no milk. It was just what I needed to read. I pray that this passage is a blessing to you as it is for me. Proverbs 16:1-9 (msg) Everything with a Place and a Purpose 1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. 2 Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good; God probes for what is good. 3 Put God in charge of your work, then what you've planned will take place. 4 God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included—but for judgment. 5 God can't stomach arrogance or pretense; believe me, he'll put those upstarts in their place. 6 Guilt is banished through love and truth; Fear-of-God deflects evil. 7 When God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand. 8 Far better to be right and poor than to be wrong and rich. 9 ...

Tuesday's Prayer ~ Being Strong and Courageous

Image
My Dear Heavenly Father, There have been so many times where I have looked at my situations in fear, instead of looking up to you....my author and finisher of faith. I pray and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus.  I refuse to listen to satan's lies. I am not weak. I am not afraid. In you, oh God, I am STRONG and I am COURAGEOUS. Your is word full of truth and not lies.  Your word says in Psalm 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?" And I thank you for never leaving nor forsaking me and being with me everywhere I go. All honor and all glory belongs to you. I also thank you in the name of Jesus for Your omnipresent. There's none like You. I thank You and give You all the praise. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray.....Amen. For more Tuesday's Prayer, click here.

Manic Monday ~ Be Strong

Image
I hope everyone's week is off to a good start. For Manic Monday, we will focus on "Be Strong" from Joshua 1:9. What does it mean to Be Strong ?? Let's look at the hebrew word and definition Be Strong - (chazaq; Strong's# 2388): courageous, valiant, manly, strengthen, established, firm, fortified, obstinate, mighty. Being strong is about being courageous, firm, established and so much more. Being strong in Joshua 1:9 is not about physical strength, but about spiritual strength. The more you read God's word and develop your realtionship with Him, the more you become spiritually strong, which in turn the stronger your faith in God becomes. With that being said, you are able to Be Strong by the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus.  Also, you will become more established in God's word and what it says. When trials come your way, you would be able to stand firm because you know without a shadow of doubt that God is and wi...

Sunday's Scripture Reading ~ Joshua 1:9

Image
I pray and hope everyone had a blessed weekend!! I did. God blessed me with another year of living. My birthday was Saturday, June 9th. It was a great, funfilled weekend spent with some of family and friends. Thank you, Lord for blessing me with another birthday. Now, it's time start a another week. This week we will be about being courageous and realizing that no matter what we go through God will be with us always. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9) God commands us to be strong and of good courage. He doesn't want us to be bound by fear. We cannot exercise our faith in God if we are afraid. It's been said many times that fear distorts our faith, which is so true. In addition to that, God gives us the reassurance that He is us with us everywhere we go. So, there's need to be afraid. If God is for us, who can be against...
