Pruning Season - Not Ideal But Necessary

Image
A "pruning season" refers to a period in a person's life where they undergo trials, challenges, or changes that are meant to remove anything that hinders their spiritual growth or relationship with God. This concept is often drawn from passages in the Bible that describe God as a gardener who prunes his vines to make them more fruitful.     Prune means  to reduce; to remove as superfluous (not needed; unnecessary) to cut off or cut back parts of for better shape or more fruitful growth.  Before God can elevate you to the next level, He has to prune away the unnecessary things that are weighing you down.       John 15:1-2, Jesus says:  "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful ," (NIV) The Passion Translation says, “I am a true sprouting vine, and the farmer who tends the vine is my Father. Springing Into a New Season

Image
I love spring, not the pollen, but I love spring. I love how everything around us transform. We have trees blooming, beautiful multi-color flower gardens, birds singing, green grass, and breezy, warm, and comfortable weather. On the downside, spring cleaning is not exactly on the top of my list. Springing into a new season can be fun and exciting. It's the time to get out in the fresh air, take the family to the beach, grill hotdogs, go to the park, enjoy a walk while taking in the scenery around you, and so much more. Your season is what you make it. You can choose to celebrate each day as a gift from God. There is a season for everything. Or, you can choose to let this wonderful new season pass you by.  This is the season to get up and do something. Allow God do something new in you and for you. The results will be miraculous. "Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?"   (Isaiah 43:19)
