Saturday's Stop and Reflect ~ Psalms 55

Image
This Week's Scripture for July 1 - July 7, 2012 Nuggets of Reflection: Meditate on Philippians 4:6-7. Be anxious for nothing, make your requests to God, and praise Him advance for manifestation. Worrying distracts you from the work God has for you. Cast all your cares upon God and allow His peace to guard your heart from the enemy ungodly influences. God's peace surpasses all understanding. So, don't lean on your own understanding. Just trust God and believe what He said He will do. Psalms 55:1-6, 16-18, 22 Give ear to my prayer, O God, And do not hide Yourself from my supplication. Attend to me, and hear me; I am restless in my complaint, and moan noisily, Because of the voice of the enemy,...... My heart is severely pained within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at res...

Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ Blessings By: Laura Story

Image
I hope everyone had a wonderful and fun-filled 4th of July. Mine? It was great. I really enjoyed spending time with the hubby and children. I think my husband loved the fact that he was able to break in his new gril. Notice the cheesy grin on his face in the picture below. Now for today's Quench Your Thirst Thursday, I came across this song by accident. I was searching for another song and this popped up. I think it was God hinting to me to use it for today's post. It's called Blessings by Laura Story . And this song is exactly that....a blessing. And it is a perfect fit for this week's theme of not being anxious and worrying. The lyrics are included in the video. So enjoy!!!

Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Use the Word to Cure Your Worries

Image
Happy 4th of July!!! I pray and hope that you are enjoying your day. Whether it's being a couch potato, having a cookout, going to the beach/lake, or just catching up with some family and friends, cease the day and HAVE FUN!! Don't worry about tomorrow's agenda. Try this for words of wisdom: Forget the PAST. Keep out of the FUTURE. Stay in the PRESENT and soak it all in. Amen and Amen!! Now for today's Wisdom Word Wednesday, I want to share with you "Ten Secrets of Cure for Worry" that I read in my Dake Study Bible. God doesn't want us to be anxious for nothing or worry about anything. He wants to protect (guard) us. And the best way for that to happen is to let it all go, give it to Him, and receive His peace which surpasses all understanding. That is why it so important not to lean on our own understanding, but just acknowledge God for who He is and what He can do for us. Here are the Ten Secrets of Cure for Worry : 1. Permi...

Tuesday's Prayer ~ Take My Anxieties

Image
My Dearest Heavenly Father, I praise and give You all the glory. I thank You for being the head of my life. You are the Alpha and Omega of everything. You are my Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counselor, and my Everlasting Father. And I need You, O God. I need You to teach me. Lord, please teach me how to cast all my cares, anxieties, and all my worries upon You and just let them go. Teach me how to pray more and worry less. I know sometimes I tend to let my anxieties get the best of me; And for that I repent and ask You to forgive me. From this day forward, I am going to take heed of Philippians 4:6-7 and " Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I will let my requests be made known to You; and Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus." Thank You Lord for setting me free. Thank You for taking away my anxieties. And if at anytime I feel myself worryi...

Manic Monday ~ Anxious, Supplication, and Guard

Image
Welcome to the first Manic Monday of July 2012!! Woo whoo!!! I can't wait to get started. Once again, our verse of the week is Philippians 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Today, we are going to focus on three words, instead of one. They are anxious, supplication, and guard. anxious - (Greek word - merimnao;#3309) ~ a distraction, a preoccupation with things causing anxiety, stress, and pressure Jesus doesn't want us to worry or be anxious about anything because He knows our heavenly Father is more than able of taking care of our needs. We should acknowledge the same thing and trust in the Lord. supplication - (Greek word - deesis;#1189) ~ need, indigence, want, privation, penury; a seeking, asking, entreating, entreaty to God or to ...

Sunday's Scripture Reading ~ Philippians 4:6-7

Image
It's official!! It's the 1st day of July 2012!! Isn't that something? Including this month, there are only six months left in this year!! WOW!! I don't know if I should be excited or what!! Now, that we are in our seventh month, was there anything that you were petitioning God for the past six months? Or, is there anything you are asking God to do in the next six months? Whatever it is don't allow yourself to get antsy and somewhat impatient. Pray to God and tell Him what's on your heart. From there, relax, let it go, and just thank Him in the name Jesus for answering your prayers. So, without further a due, this week's scripture is Philippians 4:6-7. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." I think I am going to enjoy...
