Saturday Stop and Reflect ~ Psalms 18

Image
This Week's Scripture for July 8 - July 14, 2012 Nuggets of Reflection: Through Jesus, God is the Rock of our salvation. The Lord lives and He is alive in us. Jesus is a firm foundation that we can stand on. It will never crack under pressure or erode away. No matter whats going on good or bad, we should always stand firm on God's word and proclaim who Jesus is. "On Christ the solid rock we stand; All other ground is sinking sand." Psalm 18:1-3,30-33,46 I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me ...

Feel Free Friday ~ Stand and Proclaim

Image
Feel Free Friday is about celebrating the freedom we have in Jesus. We are free to dance, to have fun, to worship Him, and to praise His Holy Name. We are also free to STAND and PROCLAIM. And that is what I want you to do. I want you to feel free to STAND on God's Word. Through Jesus, we are able to STAND because He is the ROCK. As Christians, we should always feel free to PROCLAIM that He is the ROCK of ages, the ROCK of salvation, and the solid ROCK on which we STAND. Hallelujah and Amen!!! =D Once again feel free to stand. Don't just stand. STAND FIRM!! "For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord," (1 Thessalonians 3:8) In the midst of you taking a stand, PROCLAIM. In the name of Jesus, Proclaim that the Lord lives and He is the ROCK of our salvation!!! And He is the firm foundation on which we STAND!! “The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!" (2 Samuel 22:47) ...

Quench Your Thirst Thursday ~ Rock of Ages (Jesus is the Rock)

Image
It's Quench Your Thirst Thursday time. There's nothing like being in God's presence. In addition to Jesus being our Rock, He is a thirst quencher. He is the Living Water; And when we drank from Him, we will never have to thirst or get dehydrated in the Spirit. "Jesus answered and said to her, 'Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life," (John 4:13-14). So, if you are ready to have your thirst quenched in His presence, then please take time to enjoy this praise song called "Rock of Ages (Jesus is the Rock) sung by the Praise Band in the video below. It's a great praise song. Remember, Jesus is the Rock that we can stand on with full assurance that He will not suffer our foot to be moved. Amen and Amen.

Wisdom Word Wednesday ~ Jesus is the Rock

Image
Today, Wisdom Word Wednesday is about having the wisdom to understand and acknowledge that Jesus is our rock. He is the solid rock on which we should stand. "On Christ the solid rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand," (from My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less Hymn). In the dictionary, rock means firm foundation, support, unchangeable, and steadfast. Through Jesus, our salvation in God is unshakable, unchangeable, and unwavering. It's a firm foundation that will never crack, break down, or erode away. When something is firm, that means it doesn't yield under pressure . As long as we allow Jesus to be our solid rock, He is not going to allow us to yield during our pressing times. He will not allow our foot to be moved.  Furthermore, we won't waver in our faith in our understanding of Him, especially when the enemy sends fiery darts our way. You can stand secure on His promises. In the midst of your standing, you don't have to worry about...

Tuesday's Prayer ~ Based on 2 Samuel 22:1-51

Image
My Dearest Heavenly Father, I speak to you the same words that David spoke to you, which are so true. I praise You for deliverance. Lord, You are my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me...I will call upon You, Oh Lord, because You are worthy to be praised; I know that when I am feeling down or in distress, I can call upon You and cry my heart out to You, Oh God. And You will hear my voice and incline Your ears to my prayer. Show me Your ways Father; And teach me how to keep them. I know in due time you will reward me according to my righteousness. Oh Lord, You are my lamp. You enlighten all the dark areas of life; So that I can shine and reflect Your glory. I will follow You. Your way is perfect. Your word is proven; And You are a shield to all who trust in You. Father, I thank you in the name of Jesus for being my Rock, my St...

Manic Monday ~ Exhalted

Image
I might have to change Manic Monday to Hot Monday because that's the kind of weather we have been experiencing in the southeast. Whatever you do, please do not take this heat for a joke. If you have to be out in the blazing heat, please take the proper precaution in staying cool. This public service announcement was brought to you by Toia Thompson. :) Now as for Manic Monday, we are focusing on exhalted. Our scripture for this week is, "The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!" (2 Samuel 22:47). This verse is part of a song David spoke to the Lord. David was praising God for delivering him from his enemies and Saul (2 Samuel 22:1). 2 samuel 22:2-51 is a song that shows how much David love the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength. He was a man's that panted after God's heart. In addition to that, David had a heart of worship. This song should encourages us to always give God thanks and give Him ...
