Let's Remember Who You Are

In a world that constantly tries to define your worth by performance, popularity, or past mistakes, God speaks a greater truth over your life.

1 Peter 2:9 is not just about a promise from God, it’s about our identity in Christ. It reminds us that we are not a bunch of randos. We are chosen, set apart, and called for a divine purpose.

This verse doesn’t describe who we might become. It declares and proclaims who we already are in Christ.

1. We Are a Chosen Generation

God didn’t accidentally create you or place you in this moment in history. You are handpicked for such a time as this for an ordained appointed time.

Being chosen means:

  • You are wanted by God
  • You have purpose in this generation
  • Your life carries intentional meaning

Even when you feel unseen, heaven has already marked you as significant.

2. We Are a Royal Priesthood

You carry both royalty and responsibility.

  • Royalty means you belong to the King
  • Priesthood means you have direct access to God

You don’t need to strive to be worthy—you already have access. You can boldly:

  • Pray with confidence
  • Intercede for others
  • Walk in spiritual authority

You were never meant to live beneath your identity.

3. We Are a Holy Nation

“Holy” means set apart—not perfect, but different.

You don’t have to blend into the culture around you. God calls you to stand out with:

  • Integrity
  • Faith
  • Love
  • Truth

Your life should reflect heaven in a world that often feels disconnected from it.

4. We Are God’s Special Possession

Let that sink in—you belong to God.

Not as an afterthought, but as His treasured possession.

When you understand this:

  • Comparison loses its power
  • Insecurity begins to fade
  • Confidence in God grows

Your value doesn’t come from people. It comes from the One who created you.

5. We Are Called to Shine

God didn’t bring you out of darkness just for you to stay silent. He brought you out so you could shine.

Your life is meant to:

  • Reflect His goodness
  • Share His truth
  • Point others to His light

You don’t need a platform to shine. Your everyday life is your testimony.


Lord, thank You for choosing me and calling me Your own. Help me walk confidently in who You say I am. Let my life reflect Your light and proclaim Your goodness every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There are moments in life when everything feels cluttered, our schedules, our thoughts, our hearts. We find ourselves chasing after things: success, validation, dreams, etc. Until we realize, we have drifted far away from the very One our soul truly desires.  Cody Carnes' song “Nothing Else”  is about the importance of prioritizing a relationship with God above all else, even above the blessings and gifts He provides. It emphasizes a shift in focus from seeking the blessings from the hands of God to pursuing His heart (His presence). Within every believer, there is a deep longing and desire, not for material things, approval from our peers, rewards or accolades, but for the very presence of God.  “Your Presence Is Heaven” by Israel Houghton, demonstrates the sincerity of a soul that understands or wants to experience the majestic beauty of intimacy with Jesus in God's presence which offers a foretaste of heaven, bringing joy, peace, and a sense of belonging that surpasses any earthly experience.  “Who is like You Lord in all the earth? Matchless love and beauty, endless worth”   This lyric speaks truth of God's word in Exodus 15:11, which says   "Who among the gods is like you, Lord?  Who is like you, majestic in holiness,  awesome in glory, working wonders?"
