T R I B U L A T I O N
According to Webster's Dictionary, tribulation means distress or suffering resulting from oppression pr persecution; a trying experience.
The Greek word for tribulation is thlipsis (Strong's #2347). It means pressure, oppression, stress, anguish, adversity, affliction, crushing, squashing, squeezing, distress, and putting a lot of pressure on that which is free and unfettered. It is also called spiritual bench pressing.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in
Me you may have peace. In the world,
you will have tribulation, but be of good
cheer, I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
In the midst of hard times or when you feel like you have been pressed upon on every side, trust in Him and rejoice knowing that the victory already been won in Jesus Christ. Tribulations and struggles are inevitable at some point in time in your life. But try to always remember you will never be alone. Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. Speak peace, joy, hope, faith, and love in your life today.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I have joy, peace, hope in You. Even though I may experience various tribulations in the world that may cause heartache, pain, and suffering, I will be of good cheer because you have overcome the world. Amen.
