Firm Foundation Friday is about building a solid foundation in your mind. A renewed mind in Jesus Christ is a stable mind. You do not feel like you are being pulled in two opposite directions. You are focused and disciplined in the way you think and in how you exercise your faith in God.
However, if there is no balance in your mind, one minute you feel hopeful another minute you feel hopeless, then you are double-minded. The Bible says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8). You are on a constant rollercoaster of emotions whereas your bad days seem to outweigh the bad more often than you like.
Be encouraged. Experiencing bad days here and there is a part of life. God never promised us that every day of our lives will be sunny filled with rainbows and unicorns. It's how you respond to them, which is the most important thing. Remember, faith triumphs over trouble, especially when you are in the process of renewing your mind. Keep faith in the core of your firm foundation in Christ Jesus.
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (Romans 5:1-5).
