For today's Wonderful Word Wednesday, we are going to focus on two words.
CONFORMED & TRANSFORMED
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2)
Conformed means to give the same shape, outline, or contour to, to be similar or identical to act in accordance with prevailing standards or customs. The greek word for conformed is suschematizo (pronounced soos-khay-mat-id'-zo) Strong's #4964, which refers to conforming oneself to the outer fashion or outward appearance, accommodating oneself to a model or pattern.
Transformed means to change in character or condition; to convert, to metamorphose. The greek word for transformed is metamorphoo (pronounced met-am-or-fo'-o) Strong's #3339, which means transfigure, to give a new and typically exalted or spiritual appearance; to transform for the better
We are supposed to change the world not let the world change us or turn us away from God's word. As ambassadors for Christ Jesus, we should not be blending in, but standing out among the in-crowd letting out light shine for all the world to see.
Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not be tempted to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind that I may do Your good and acceptable and perfect will. I confess this day that I am a world changer and I will let my light shine. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
