There's Nothing Like A Good Laugh Friday ~:D

Taking It With You

There once was a rich man who was near death.
He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money
and he wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven.
So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him.

An angel hears his plea and appears to him.
"Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you."
The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules.

The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him.
The angel reappears and informs the man that God has decided
to allow him to take one suitcase with him.
Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it with pure
gold bars and places it beside his bed.

Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven
to greet St. Peter. St. Peter seeing the suitcase says,
"Hold on, you can't bring that in here!"

But, the man explains to St. Peter that he has permission and asks
him to verify his story with the Lord.
Sure enough, St. Peter checks and comes back saying, "You're right.
You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its
contents before letting it through."

St. Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the
man found too precious to leave behind and exclaims,
"You brought pavement?!!!"

Praise the Lord!

There's a little old Christian lady living next door to an atheist.
Every morning the lady comes out onto her front porch and shouts
"Praise the Lord!".

The atheist yells back, "There is no God".

She does this every morning with the same result.
As time goes on, the lady runs into financial difficulties and has trouble buying food.
She goes out onto the porch and asks God for help with groceries, then says
"Praise the Lord".

The next morning she goes out onto the porch and there's the groceries she asked for, and of course, she shouts
"Praise the Lord!!!".

The atheist jumps out from behind a bush and says,
"Ha, I bought those groceries - there is no God".

The lady looks at him and smiles, she shouts
"Praise the Lord, not only did you provide for me Lord, you made Satan pay for the groceries!!"

Keep Good Company

"Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits."
(I Corinthians 15:33)

All company is not good company. The company you keep can determine or have an huge impact on your future. You can chose to keep company with a person who is of positive influence, full of encouragement, reflecting Godly conduct, etc. Or you can chose to keep company with a person who is negative, never encouraging, self-involved, etc.

When you are striving to grow spiritually and increase in God, be mindful of who you keep in your circle. This is where you need to tap into your gift of spiritual discernment. The people you need in your circle are the ones you can call on anytime for spiritual advice. People who can give build you and not pull you down. People who can encourage you in God's word. People who are honest and genuine. You don't want to be around anyone who wants to corrupt the good that God is doing in you.

Proverbs 1:10 says, "My son (or daughter), if sinners entice you, do not consent."

Proverbs 1:15 says, "Do not walk in the way with them (sinners or bad company); keep your feet from their path, for their feet run to evil."

"Beware of false prophets (fake people, bad company, (emphasis added here)) who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." (Matthew 7:15)

Scripture Sunday ~ Ephesians 6:10-17

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places.]

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be
able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you
will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

(Ephesians 6:10-17)

There's Nothing Like A Good Laugh Friday ~ :-D

Where is God?!?

A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that, if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons were probably involved.

They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed, but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8-year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon.

The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?”

They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open, wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God!!?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD!?"

The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"

The youngest brother gasped for breath and replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time dude. God is missing and they think WE did it!"

Satan-In-Law

One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, everyone in the tiny Midwest town got up early
and went to the local church.
Before the services started, the townspeople were sitting in their pews.
Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church.
Everyone started screaming and running for the entrance, trampling each other in
a frantic effort to get away from an evil incarnate.

Soon everyone was evacuated from the church, except for one elderly gentleman who
sat calmly in his pew, not moving.....seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate
enemy was in his presence.

Now this confused and irritated the Devil a bit, so he walked up to the man and said,
"Don't you know who I am?"

"Yep, sure do," the elderly man said.

Satan asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"

This time the man said, "Nope, sure ain't!"

Satan, a little more perturbed at this, asked, "Why aren't you afraid of me?"

The man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for 56 years."

Victory is Mine!!! Is it yours???

VICTORY

I refused to be discouraged
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted,
and here's the reason why...
I have a God who's mighty,
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me,
and I am on His team.
He is all wise and powerful,
Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable,
My God remains the same.
My God knows all that's happening;
Beginning to the end,
His presence is my comfort,
He is my dearest friend.
When sickness comes to weaken me,
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.
When circumstances threaten
to rob me from my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my strivings cease.
And when my heart melts within me,
and weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms,
He soothes my heart and soul.
The great "I AM" is with me,
My life is in His hand,
The "Son of God" is my hope,
It's in His strength I stand.
I refuse to be defeated,
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me,
as through this life I trod.
I'm looking past
all my circumstances,
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached
the heart of God,
I'm resting in His love.
I give God thanks in everything,
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory is mine;
He'll help me win the race.

Poem is from God is Groovy

If you have the victory in Christ Jesus, then claim it. Stop walking around like you are defeated. We are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. We cannot and must not allow the devil to have the victory over us in every battle we fight against him. The weapons we fight with are not carnal, but mighty for the pulling down of strongholds. Whatever situation you are going through, marriage, children, finances, friends, your boss, etc., know that you have the victory in Jesus' name. Amen and Amen. Have a bless and fulfilled day or evening.

Some Inspiration To Start Off Your Week

I saw this video on Keeper of the Cheerios. I thought I share with y'all. The lyrcis are to the bottom. But remember no matter what you are going through God is there. He is always there. Trust the unseen. Let go and let God.

"Never"
By: Barlow Girl

I waited for you today
But you didn't show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?

[Chorus:]
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I"m never alone
And though I cannot see You
And I can't explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life
We cannot separate
'Cause You're part of me
And though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen

[Chorus]

We cannot separate
You're part of me
And though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen

[Chorus]

There's Nothing LIke A Good Laugh Friday ~ : D

DOMINATED MEN

God looks over the millions of people and says, "Welcome to Heaven. I want the women to go with Saint Peter, and the men to form two lines. Make one line of the men that dominated their women on earth, and the other of men who were dominated by their women."

There's much movement, but eventually the women are gone and there are two lines. The line of the men that were dominated is 100 miles long. The line of men that dominated women has only one man.

God gets angry and says, "You men should be ashamed of yourselves. I created you in my image and you were all dominated by your mates. Look at the only one of my sons that stood up and made me proud. Learn from him!"

He turns to the man and says, "Tell them, my son. How did you manage to be the only one on that line?"

The man says, "I don't know, my wife told me to stand here."

GETTING INTO HEAVEN

A fellow finds himself in front of the Pearly Gates. St. Peter explains that it's not easy to get into heaven.

There are some criteria that must be met before entry is allowed.

For example, were you a church-goer or religious? No?

St. Peter told him that's bad.

Were you generous, giving money to the poor or to charities? No?

St. Peter told him that that, too, was bad.

Did you do any good deeds, such as helping his neighbor? Anything? No?

St. Peter was becoming concerned.

Exasperated,the Saint says,"Look, everybody does something nice sometime. Work with me, here! I'm trying to help. Now think!"

The man thinks for a minute, then says, "Well, I did help this old lady once. I came out of a store and saw that a dozen Hell's Angels had taken her purse and were shoving her around. I threw my bags down and got her purse back, then I told the biggest biker there that he was cowardly and I spat in his face."

"Wow," said St. Peter, "That's impressive! When did this happen?"

"Oh, about 15 minutes ago," replied the man.

Colossians 4:6 & Mark 9:49-50

"Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned with salt, that you may know
how you ought to answer each one."
(Colossians 4:6)

"For everyone will be seasoned with fire,
and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
"Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor,
how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves,
and have peace with one another."

HIGHWAY 119

A cop pulls over a car load of nuns....

Cop: 'Sister, this is a 65 MPH highway -- why are you going so slow?' Sister: 'Sir, I saw a lot of signs that said 22, not 65.'

Cop: 'Oh sister, that's not the speed limit, that's the name of the highway you're on!

Sister: 'Oh! Silly me! Thanks for letting me know. I'll be more careful.
At this point the cop looks in the back-seat where the other nuns are shaking and trembling.

Cop: 'Excuse me, Sister, what's wrong with your friends back there? They're shaking something terrible.'

Sister: 'Oh, we just got off of highway 119.'

Untitled

Politics can be such a touchy subject. One thing for sure....I am neither a Republican, a Democrat, nor Independent. I am a Dependent. That is truly depending on God to instill in my heart on who to vote for. In an election like this, you can't simply go with your own ambitions.

Now, whomever God place on my heart to vote for, I am not going to go out of my way to discredit the other candidate. That's not my place. I believe God is not going to put the same candidate on everyone's heart. That's why I can't go about making and passing judgements on any candidate. If God place on my heart to vote for candidate A, it's not my job (unless God says otherwise) to make sure everyone else vote for candidate A. I don't know what God might have place on your heart. He could tell you to vote for candidate B.

Discrediting presidential candidates, in my opinion, is no different than the people in the bible trying to discredit the woman of adultery. It is not our place to judge. Everyone have faults or flaws in one form or the other. Before you address someone's flaws, it's best to make sure the beam is out of your eye. Otherwise, you will not get a clear perspective. As a result, you're casting stones, when none is needed to be cast. "Let he who have not sin, cast the first stone." Or as a friend of mine use to say, "Don't come washing dishes in my house, when you have a sink full of your own."

No matter what, in the end God's will is going to be done. If you don't do anything else, just pray. God has a plan for everything. Somethings are not for us to understand. His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. He is the Alpha and the Omega. God is in the midst of this election.

Inspirational to the Soul

Bringing Harmony To Discord

I once talked with a couple about their marriage. They completed personality "testing" and were discussing some differences that had frustrated them both over the years. I summarized some of those differences for them.

"You are sensitive," I said to the husband. He nodded affirmatively.
"You try to keep harmony in the relationship. It is important to you that you don't have too much conflict, so you tend to give in often in order to keep the peace." He agreed.

"You like affection and will often reach out and hold your wife's hand for no reason at all." He smiled and nodded. "And you remember birthdays and special days - these are important to you." He continued to smile and nod.

"And you particularly appreciate it when she says, 'I love you.' In fact, you need her to say that at least once a day." "EXACTLY!" he exclaimed with a broad smile, looking at his wife.

Then I spoke to her. "And you appreciate his sensitivity, but you tend to be more rational and logical." She smiled and nodded. "You can be more objective than he can about personal criticism and may sometimes be too blunt with him." They both agreed.

"You like affection, but you don't require it like he does. If you hold hands or not, that is unimportant to you." She continued to nod. "And you also appreciate the fact that he remembers those special days, but if he were to forget one, that would not upset you.

In fact, you have to remember to say, 'I love you' to him, not because you don't love him, but because saying it is just something you don't think about often." She agreed, looking at her husband. "Saying words like 'I love you' does not mean the same thing to you as it does to him.

You know you love him. In fact, you looked into his eyes when you got married and said, 'I love you' and figured that, if you ever change your mind, you'll let him know." "EXACTLY!" she exclaimed, with a smile.

They told me that the discussion helped them to simply understand one another and to accept themselves. Rather than trying to change the other to get their own needs met, they could more easily appreciate their differences and also appreciate themselves as they are. They found harmony where there used to be discord.

We don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note. Only notes that are different can harmonize. The same is true with people.

~ Steve Goodier ~
[ by:
Steve Goodier -- Copyright © 2008 -- from Steve Goodier (LifeSupport@yahoogroups.com) ]

If you are experience discordness in a relationship with anyone, be the bigger person and make an effort to bring harmony where there is none. Think about a piano that needs tuning up. When a piano needs a tuning, it will play off key. No matter how great of a pianist you are, your beautiful symphony won't exactly be music to your ears or anybody else. But when the fine tuning is done, you will hear the beautiful melody in every chord you play. So, tune up any relationships that is need of it. So that, there can be harmony where there is not.
